The app is provided “as is”, with no guarantee of uninterrupted service, freedom from error, or preservation of data. Features may change or disappear.
Do not use Asterisco as the only copy of something you cannot lose. Export to GeoJSON and Markdown has been there since day one for exactly this reason, and it is worth using.
What you write is yours
Your notes, photos, recordings and attached files remain yours. You grant us only what running the service requires: storing that content, moving it between your devices, and showing it to the people you have given access to. Nothing beyond that, and nothing after you delete it.
We are the tool, not the author
Everything in Asterisco is written by the people who use it. We provide the tool; what is written, photographed or recorded belongs to whoever wrote, photographed or recorded it, and responsibility for that content, including any third-party data inside it, rests with whoever created it.
We do not review or monitor content in advance, and we carry no duty to police it.
What we do have is the right to act: we may remove content and suspend or close accounts that breach the Acceptable use rules below, on a report or on our own finding, and we comply with court orders for removal as the law requires.
Acceptable use
A few things do not belong here:
- Using the app to record a person’s movements rather than places. Noting an address is the use; keeping a history of where somebody has been is not, whether in a shared folder or inside a group.
- Following another person’s location without their knowledge and agreement.
- Keeping third-party personal data beyond what your purpose needs, such as a name, a health condition, a religion, an opinion, or any judgement about whoever lives at an address.
- Uploading unlawful content, or content you have no right to.
- Attempting to reach notes, accounts or files that are not yours.
- Overloading, probing or attacking the service, or working around its limits.
An account used for any of those may be suspended or closed, and the content in question removed. To report such use, write to contato@asterisco.app.
Your account
An account is optional and the app works without one. If you create one, keeping access to the email address or the Apple or Google account you sign in with is yours to manage, because that is how signing in works.
You can delete your account at any time, in Settings, and that deletes what is on the server.
Price
Personal use is free and every feature is unlocked. If that ever changes, notice comes first, and what is already yours stays exportable.
Refunds and cancellation
Personal use is free. The Groups plan is for up to 100 people per group.
Card
US$ 9.90 per month
Renews automatically until you cancel. Cancelling stops future charges, and the group lasts until the end of the period already paid. The yearly price is US$ 99, renewing once a year on the same terms.

Right of withdrawal (art. 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Defence Code): within 7 days of a group’s first payment, automatic, from the Billing page. Once per account and once per card. Renewal is turned off and the group becomes inactive at once.
After that
By email
After the window, or for months bought later, we review the request: write to contato@asterisco.app.
- Deleted group: the money is not returned and the paid slot stays yours until the end of the period. If it stays empty, the card subscription is cancelled 2 days before the next charge.
- Payment disputed with the bank or card issuer (chargeback): the group becomes inactive.
- Stripe processes the payment and collects the card details. Asterisco does not store card numbers.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for lost data, lost profits, or indirect damages arising from use of the app.
